GIC Alarm Annunciator Series is a panel-mount visual and audible alarm annunciator available in 2 to 48 windows across multiple housing sizes. Supporting 6 field-selectable ISA-standard operation sequences, optically isolated fault inputs, 4 SPDT relay outputs, a 90 dB integral buzzer, RS-485 Modbus RTU communication, and a universal supply range of 90–270V AC/DC — the GIC Alarm Annunciator Series delivers reliable fault indication for process plants, substations, and industrial control panels.
GIC Alarm Annunciator Series is a comprehensive range of panel-mount alarm annunciators designed for immediate visual and audible fault indication in industrial process plants, power substations, oil & gas facilities, water treatment systems, and building automation applications. The series covers 2 to 48 windows in a single product family, with four series variants — AU, AD, AB, and AC — addressing different power supply configurations and fault input voltage requirements to suit virtually any installation scenario.
When a fault input contact changes state — from Normally Open to Closed or from Normally Closed to Open — the corresponding window immediately flashes and the integral buzzer activates, providing simultaneous visual and audible alarm in accordance with the selected ISA-standard operation sequence. The four front-panel push buttons — Mute, Acknowledge, Reset, and Test — allow operators to manage alarms directly at the panel, while output terminals for remote access of all four functions enable operation from a remote control desk.
The series offers three window sizes (Small 34×31 mm, Medium 68×31 mm, Large 68×63 mm) in six colors (Red, Yellow, Blue, Green, Amber, White) and supports intermix window configurations — combining different sizes within a single unit — for flexible tagging and alarm group color-coding. Individual window lenses are replaceable from the front without panel disassembly, minimizing maintenance downtime.
Four SPDT (C/O) relay outputs are provided on all standard models: two for alarm grouping (Trip/Non-Trip), one for external hooter, and one for Ring Back sequence or supervisory function. The AU and AD series additionally support external fault input voltages from 12V to 240V AC/DC (±10%), making them directly compatible with a wide range of field transmitters and process switches without signal conditioning. The AB and AC series (AC-DC Fail variants) feature a dual power supply input — auxiliary + standby — for continuous annunciator operation even on loss of primary supply.
Communication via RS-485 Modbus RTU is standard on all models except the basic variant, enabling integration with SCADA, DCS, and HMI systems for centralized alarm management and data logging. Six field-selectable ISA operation sequences cover the full range of annunciator applications: Manual Reset (M-1), Auto Reset (A-1), Ring Back (R-1-12), Auto Reset with No-lock (A-1-4), Manual Reset First-Out (F2M-1), and Auto Reset First-Out (F2A-1) — all configurable in the field without hardware changes. A Fast Scan option (10 ms scan time) is available for applications requiring rapid fault detection.
