GIC HM36 Series is a compact quartz-based 6-digit non-resettable hour meter that records cumulative operating time in hours and tenths (1/10 h resolution) with ±0.02% accuracy over its entire range. Available in panel-mount (7 bezel options) and DIN-rail/base mount variants, across three supply voltage ranges — 4–36V AC/DC, 10–80V DC, and 90–460V AC — the HM36 Series is frequency independent, shock and vibration proof, and certified to IP66 (front, with gasket), SAE, and NEMA 4X standards.
GIC HM36 Series is a high-accuracy quartz-based electromechanical hour meter designed for precise cumulative operating time measurement in industrial machines, power generation equipment, HVAC systems, compressors, generators, vehicles, and control panels. Built on a robust quartz oscillator mechanism, the HM36 delivers ±0.02% accuracy across its entire measurement range — equivalent to less than 10 minutes of error per year of continuous operation — making it suitable for maintenance scheduling, warranty tracking, and regulatory compliance applications.
The 6-digit non-resettable register displays accumulated time in hours and tenths of hours (99999.9 hours maximum), with automatic recycle to zero at the end of the count range. The running indicator confirms at a glance whether the hour meter is actively counting, preventing confusion between powered-on and actively running states. The quartz-based design is frequency independent for AC applications, eliminating the ±1% frequency variation errors inherent in synchronous motor-based hour meters when operated on non-standard frequency supplies.
The HM36 Series is offered in two distinct form factors. The panel-mount version provides seven interchangeable bezel styles — Rectangular, Rectangular 2-hole, Round, Round 3-hole, Square Mount, Cup Mount, and Stirrup Mount — accommodating a wide range of panel aesthetics and mounting requirements from standard industrial panels to automotive dashboards and marine applications. IP66 front panel protection (with NEMA 4X gasket, sold separately) makes the panel-mount version suitable for outdoor and washdown environments. The DIN-rail/base mount version (30-series models) fits standard 35 mm DIN rails inside control panels, with IP20 terminal and IP40 enclosure protection.
Three supply voltage groups cover virtually all industrial and mobile power systems: the LA-series handles 90–264V AC (mains universal), the LD-series covers 10–80V DC (battery and DC systems), and the LC-series supports 4–36V AC/DC (low-voltage control circuits). Additional DIN-rail models cover 270–460V AC (high-voltage industrial supplies), 48V AC, and 110V DC. All models draw minimal power — between 0.25 VA and 1 VA maximum — minimizing panel load. The LD (DC) series includes overvoltage and reverse polarity protection for up to 2× battery voltage, providing robust protection against wiring errors.
The HM36 Series withstands vibration up to 10–80 Hz at 20g (SAE J1378) and shock of 55g at 9–13ms (SAE J1378), making it suitable for mobile machinery, vehicles, and equipment subject to mechanical stress. Operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C (panel mount) ensures reliable operation from arctic cold to tropical heat. Approvals include UL (cULus), CE, UK CA, and RoHS compliance.
