ICP DAS NS-208 is an unmanaged 8-port industrial Ethernet switch supporting 10/100 Base-TX with auto-negotiation and auto MDI/MDI-X for plug-and-play deployment. Built with a store-and-forward architecture, 1,500 Vrms port isolation, wide power input of +12 to +48 VDC, and an operating temperature range of -40°C to +75°C, the NS-208 delivers reliable network connectivity in demanding industrial environments.
ICP DAS NS-208 is a compact, unmanaged 8-port industrial Ethernet switch engineered for reliable network connectivity in industrial automation environments. All eight RJ-45 ports support 10/100 Base-TX with per-port auto-negotiation, enabling the switch to automatically match the speed and duplex settings of connected devices — from legacy 10 Mbps PLCs and sensors to modern 100 Mbps controllers and HMIs — without any manual configuration.
The automatic MDI/MDI-X crossover function eliminates the need for crossover cables, allowing standard straight-through Cat5 cables to be used for all connections regardless of device type. This simplifies field wiring and reduces installation errors in panel environments where multiple devices are interconnected.
The store-and-forward processing architecture buffers each incoming frame completely before forwarding, verifying frame integrity and discarding any corrupted packets before they propagate through the network. Combined with a 2,048-entry MAC address table and 1 Mbit frame buffer memory, the NS-208 handles bursty network traffic efficiently while minimizing unnecessary packet retransmissions.
Flow control is supported in both full-duplex mode (IEEE 802.3x pause frames) and half-duplex mode (backpressure), preventing buffer overflow and packet loss during periods of high network load. Per-port 1,500 Vrms isolation protects connected equipment and the switch itself from ground loops and electrical transients between network segments — a critical feature in industrial installations where equipment is spread across multiple power domains.
The NS-208 accepts a wide DC power input range of +12 to +48 VDC with reverse polarity protection, drawing only 0.15 A at 24 VDC. With a DIN-rail form factor and an operating temperature range of -40°C to +75°C, the NS-208 is well-suited for direct panel mounting in factory automation, building automation, and remote I/O applications. The NSM-108 variant offers identical functionality in a metal casing with additional wall-mount capability for more demanding mechanical environments.
